Abstract

As the world becomes increasingly aware of the impacts of climate change, individuals and industries alike are seeking ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

The Film Industry has started to acknowledge its carbon footprint as well as has launched various green initiatives to make the industry environmentally sustainable, which will help to slow down global warming.

The study aimed to identify the relationship between the five qualities related to innovation and the practices of applying sustainable filmmaking, reducing the carbon footprint, and the extent of its adoption.

Rogers' (2003) diffusion of innovations theory was used to guide the investigation

the descriptive analytical approach was adopted and a questionnaire of (34) paragraphs, the research group included (416) students from the Higher Institute of Cinema at the Academy of Arts in Egypt because they are the most interested groups in the film industry and therefore, the groups most committed to sustainable filmmaking practices. They were chosen randomly.

The study concluded that the extent to which students at High Cinema Institute Sustainable Filmmaking Practices are linked to their awareness of the five major attributes to accept and spread new ideas: Relative advantages, compatibility, simplicity, trialability, and observability.
