This study provides the first synthesis of the empirical literature on the psychology of
Eco-horror film using multi-disciplinary research from media studies, psychology,
neurobiology, psychotherapy, communication studies, clinical psychology, Aesthetics and
Art.
The study sought to identify the relationship between Audience’s exposure to Ecohorror
Movies and its Relationship to their Ecophobia, the study belongs to the descriptive
studies, and the researcher used the media survey method, This study uses the Magic-Bullet
Theory, or hypodermic needle theory’ , The Uses and gratifications Theory, Protection
motivation theory (PMT)and the protective frame theory to develop a theoretical framework
for ascertaining the type of impact on Eco-horror movie viewers , and the sample of the study
was a sample of (300) and the study relied on the questionnaire form, the measure Ecophobia
as tools for the study and the most important results of the study were as follows: There is a
statistically significant correlation between Audience exposure to Eco-horror Movies and their
levels of Ecophobia.
